On March 22, Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy Masterpieces of Qi Baishi jointly organized by Liaoning Provincial Museum and Zhejiang Provincial Museum was opened grandly at Zhejiang Provincial Museum. This exhibition will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the death of Qi Baishi and look back the artistic life of the master of his generation.
All exhibits of this exhibition come from Liaoning Provincial Museum. With the artistic experience of Qi Baishi as the main line, the exhibition selected 70 pieces (sets) of masterpieces in painting in his early age, middle age, peak age and end age of artistic life collected by Liaoning Provincial Museum, from the freehand brushwork of red flowers and green leaves to the smartness of fish, crab, shrimp and worm, and even the simplicity and elegance of grass and trees, vegetables and fruits, this exhibition best presents the artistic features and achievements of Qi Baishi.
As learned, Liaoning Provincial Museum has collected over 400 works of Qi Baishi, which is the most among domestic museums. The works of Qi Baishi it collects cover complete themes, are all masterpieces from all of his ages and can form independent systems, it is well-known for this. The Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy Masterpieces of Qi Baishi self-organized by Liaoning Provincial Museum has become a brand exhibition, and has ever been exhibited in over 20 domestic cities and Hong Kong. This time, the Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy Masterpieces of Qi Baishi held in Zhejiang, will definitely bring about outstanding visual enjoyment for local visitors.
